Trusting in God’s Promises

Remember when you were a kid and you would pinky-promise with your best friend? It was usually about keeping secrets but sometimes it went beyond that. Secrets were pretty easy to keep as children, especially since we tended to forget them as time went by. As adults, we learned to expand our promises to more substantial things, like promising to pay a loan or to spend the rest of your life with the one you love. Unfortunately keeping those promises sometimes become more difficult as time goes on. In fact, the number of repossessions, and divorces that happen every year prove that our good intentions just aren’t enough.

Humans are flawed. Very, very flawed. Our broken promises can cause heartache and pain, but God’s do not. It’s refreshing to know that even though our best friend can’t always keep a promise, God can. Not only is He the best at keeping secrets, but He’ll also protect you, comfort you, help you, strengthen you, and hold your hand the entire time (Isaiah 41:10).

This month’s study dives deep into how we can grow in God’s word through His promises. God is the ultimate best friend and partner to have in life, and this month will help you learn how to make the most of your relationship with Him and His promises. I pray that it will increase your faith in the Lord.
