I find great comfort in God’s promises, donβt you? There is something deeply reassuring about knowing that God keeps His word and that His plans for us are good.
The story of Samuel is a great example of finding comfort in God’s promises. Samuel was born to a woman named Hannah, who had been childless for many years. In her desperation, she cried out to God for a son, promising to dedicate him to the Lord if He would grant her request.
God answered Hannah’s prayer, and Samuel was born. True to her promise, Hannah brought him to the temple to be raised by Eli the priest. Samuel grew up in the house of the Lord, serving God faithfully from a young age.
Throughout Samuel’s life, God made many promises to him. He promised to be with him always, to guide him in his decisions, and to protect him from harm. Samuel trusted in these promises, even when he faced difficult situations.
Trust In God
Samuel did as God commanded, even anointing David as the new king. And despite the challenges he faced along the way, he found comfort in God’s promises.
As Christians, we can take heart in the fact that God’s promises are just as trustworthy today as they were in Samuel’s time. We can find comfort in knowing that God is always with us, guiding us and protecting us. And we can trust that His plans for us are good, even when we can’t see the full picture.
This month, weβll study Samuelβs life and how he relied on Godβs promises to do the right thing. So if you’re feeling anxious or unsure about the future, this will be a good study for you to find inspiration, comfort, and courage in Godβs promises.
I pray that something you read this month will help strengthen your trust in God’s goodness and faithfulness. He will never leave you or forsake you.
Blessings,
